Gun Control NOW!!!!

What happened after the shootings that occurred in Columbine High School in 1999 and Virginia Tech in 2007?

Where: U.S. Congress
Democrats: Lets impose tougher rules on Gun Ownership!
Republican: Second Amendment must be upheld!, and interpreted literally!

Why does some states in the United States still exhibit such a laissez-faire attitude towards gun ownership? When will Americans learn? How much more events like the tragedy that happened in Aurora, Colorado during the Dark Knight Rises premiere, that prompted Batman fans over the weekend all over the country to be anxious while watching the critically acclaimed film and the cancellation of the Paris premiere of the film, do the majority of the population need before they realize that one of many ways to limit crime is to make it harder for would-be-criminals to get one of the most used instrument in crimes, not just in the U.S. all over the world, controlled.

Let's see how in election year this would put Mitt Romney and Pres. Barack Obama in an awkward position. They both have to court battle-ground states for them to win, it will be easier for Mitt Romney but harder for the president due to Al Gore's experience when he held a firm stance for gun regulation which later caused him crucial votes from independents mostly from rural areas in purple states.

I was on my way last night to the theaters to watch the Dark Knight Rises when I heard of the tragic news while inside a cab. The cab driver even made a side comment while grinning "those Americans are crazy". I just laughed, I was to startled to even lecture him on my usual no-generalization rule. So I just cheated my mind and said well that's his opinion.

Some will argue how come in Norway, the neo-nazi Anders Breivik was still able to stage his own killing spree in the island of Utoya, despite the country having one of the toughest gun ownership laws in the planet? Well, I think, by now we all know that criminals will always find a way to work around the system. So what to do then?

Love you all, my reader's !!!
